Grassroots India offers hope and opportunity to disadvantaged and destitute young girls in Odisha.  Extreme poverty in Odisha, coupled with high percentages of broken homes and harsh societal conditions for women, can make life quite difficult for these young girls.  Our transformational, holistic and dynamic program serves to provide a launchpad for them to destroy the bonds of impoverishment and create a new life for themselves and their families.

Participants of the program include girls between the ages of 17 and 28, who are referred to us by the government, social workers, ashrams and other citizens.  We provide a safe environment where these girls are provided vocational and life skills training, healthy meals and healthcare to ensure they are on a firm path to independence.

Guru Krupa Foundation (GKF), a private foundation based in NY, has been supporting our operational needs for the past three years and this year is no different. We are immensely proud to call them our partner.  Their investment in our program ensures that we are able to provide services and opportunities for these young girls to realize their full potential and pave the way for a brighter future.
