Since 2007, the Guru Krupa Foundation (GKF), a private foundation based in NY, has been funding a broad range of social, educational and religious/cultural charitable causes across India and the US. The foundation’s holistic approach to charitable giving is based on the premise that equal opportunity and access must be provided to every individual; the pursuit of knowledge must never end and the acquisition of cultural knowledge must be preserved.
In India, GKF has focused its funding mainly on some of the most disadvantaged sections of society – children and youth. Support is primarily provided to causes that seek to address the quality of and access to education for impoverished children & youth in rural and urban areas.
Grassroots India has been working on behalf of those in the lowest socio-economic strata in Odisha, providing marginalized young girls access to comprehensive vocational and life skills training, healthcare and counseling. Together, with The Hariharananda Vocational Training Center, we help young adults transition out of orphanages, once they reach the age of majority (18). Our WISH (Women’s Independent Self-Help) network creates linkages between rural areas and urban services – our network includes doctors, hospitals, lawyers, government officials, counselors, job services and much more.
This year, GKF is once again supporting our holistic endeavors to transform the lives of young girls in Odisha. We extend our heartfelt thanks to GKF for their invaluable support!
